Late to the game...
...as this was the first time I heard MMJ, but damn did they kick ass at Langerado. Tied for first with Matisyahu as one of the best acts of the festival.

I'm going to have to disagree with Bob and say...MMJ kicks my ass and moves my soul everytime I see them. Jim James is a really poignant lyricist, amazing songwriter, their rhythm section is rock solid and explosive, and this band is one of the most energetic, soulful yet totally down-to-earth and earnest bands I've ever seen. They seriously rock. I don't understand how people who listen to jam music, which should inspire an open mind and ear, poo-poo any music that doesn't go on for twenty minutes and embrace improvosation and unorthodox scales. I personally believe MMJ is awesome. Bob, can disagree, but what other folks said is true, why waste time bashing a band you don't get into as much, enjoy and celebrate the music you do love.

Bob,
You are incredibly out of line. Do you even have an idea as to how much a rig costs? Go do some research and educate yourself. Rigs are no where near cheap. So what in the hell gives you the right to go on a tangent in on someones tape (giving them a shitty rating), that speant this amount of time and money on something that you can enjoy for not a cent? Seriously, if you don't like the band, don't listen. You have no right doing this. Grow up.
